My work of four months on The Dark World consisted mainly of destroying things, smoke effects and doing R&D for holographic effects. The destruction consisted of destroying multiple parts of the throne room, including the throne itself.
It was a challenging project mainly because the client wanted something exact and precise which is a little tricky to get with simulations, so I had to build setups that gave me a higher level of control over my RBD and volumetric sims, which ended up working pretty nicely.
It was good to work on such a big project with a very experienced team. And we got invited to a Premiere!
