Effects Lead at Double Negative London

My role on this show had many aspects to it. From doing shots, to creating setups and codes to looking after people.

There were quite a few interesting technical challenges on this project, one of which was hair simulation, for which I had collaborated with Laurie Priest to create a super efficient hair solver that handled collisions and was even capable of handling curly hair! It was used to simulate hair in digi-double shots.

I got to create many setups, such as setting up a destruction pipeline and coming up with a very efficient way to be able to sim very long smoke trails which are always a challenge, among other things such as running some very interesting shots, like the train going through the building destruction shots.

Leading was a big part of my day to day work as well, where I had to technically support the team as well as keep a close communication with the supervision and production teams, to hit the goals and keep things running smoothly and on time.
